CSADD is a chapter of the national SADD organization. Originally, the mission of the SADD chapter was to help young people say "No" to drinking and driving. Today the mission has expanded. Students have said that positive peer pressure, role models and other strategies can help them say "No" to more than drinking and driving. That is why SADD has become a peer leadership organization dedicated to preventing underage drinking and drug use by focusing attention on the potentially life threatening consequences of destructive decisions involving issues such as not wearing a seat belt, smoking, steroid use, violence, sexually transmitted diseases and suicide. SADD's mission simply stated is: To provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, drunk driving, drug abuse and other destructive decisions. Activities will include meetings, volunteer work, sponsorship of dances, Red Ribbon Week, National SADD Month - April, and other activities.
