Child Centered Programs:
- There is a weekly principal's advocacy meeting to meet individual student needs.
- Creekview hosts the district's mildly intellectually handicapped students.
- All resource students are included in the regular classroom.
- We have a very active PTA that sponsors numerous student activities.
- Students participate in a schoolwide reading peer tutoring program.
- We have purchased hundreds of new books for the library and classrooms.
Parent Involvement:
Creekview Elementary is fortunate to have supportive parents. Our PTA goes the extra mile to provide quality programs for the children. Last year over 100 parents volunteered for a total of 1,886 hours. A few examples of PTA programs are: assemblies, Reflections, Trading Post, Field Day, Ribbon Week, Smoke Signals Newsletter, and Student of the Week. In fact there are 26 different programs that are sponsored by the PTA.
We also have a newly created "Community Council." This governing body is made up of four parents and three school employees. The council decides on how "School Trustland" and capital outlay money is spent. They are also responsible for creating a school reading and curriculum plan.
