About Wellington Elementary:

Our school is located in Wellington, Utah. It is one of the five elementary schools in the Carbon School District. We have about 400 students in grades K-6.

Wellington's time schedule is from 7:40 A.M. to 2:05 P.M. Monday through Thursday and on Friday from 7:40 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. Most of our students ride a school bus, but many walk from neighborhoods nearby.

Wellington is a small rural community in eastern Utah about 6 miles from Price. We are a desert community with hot summers and cold snowy winters. Our major industry is coal mining. There are no traffic lights in Wellington, and we are 75 miles from the nearest large city. Our sky is so beautiful and clear that at night you can see all the stars.

We are close to the CEU Dinosaur Museum, and the quarry where paleontologists are digging dinosaur bones. Nine Mile Canyon, a few miles from Wellington, is world famous for its Fremont Indian pictographs and petroglyphs.

Kids love Wellington because of the freedom from crime and the great places to play. They love four-wheeling on the desert, hunting, fishing, and riding horses and bikes.
