Hello Creekview parents! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year we'll be having our Book Fair online. It runs from Monday, March 22 to Sunday, April 4. That's two whole weeks to browse and shop books! A flyer will be coming home with your student. The link to the Book Fair is https://www.scholastic.com/bf/creekviewelementaryschool. From this link, you can shop a 'virtual' book fair, designed to look similar to an in-person fair or you can shop from all the books Scholastic has to offer. If you use the discount code “SHARE10” you'll get 10% of every order. All orders will ship directly to your home. There is a “Virtual Wallet” available online so that if you have different family members that would like to contribute money to allow your student to buy books, they can add money to the wallet ($5, $10, or whatever they'd like) for your student to spend. This is especially useful for relatives that live out of town but would like to help buy books.

Hey Parents! We appreciate your support during these challenging times. We assure you, we have and are continuing to implement practices to mitigate the spread of Covid. We have been very fortunate to have a low number of positive cases affect our school. Due to the proactive approach of our health department, oftentimes many people are involved in quarantine situations. We are thrilled to be able to offer our students who are quarantined a connection to their learning. Remote learning is for temporary situations, and is not meant to replace attending school physically. Its purpose is to allow healthy students to attend school remotely when they are required to stay home. Please send your non quarantined healthy children to school and we will continue to practice our safety measures. Reminder of the process to request remote learning. Parents must call the office each day before 8:10 to request to do remote learning. Please do not contact the teachers directly so we can accurately track the attendance of all students. Thanks!

This message is in regards to some changes taking place at Creekview as we adapt to COVID restrictions. On the first day of school, we are asking all students to enter through their teacher’s outside door. If parents would like to escort their student to class, you can walk to the outside door of the class and the teacher will be there to greet you. However, we will not be able to let parents come inside the school. Students who are eating breakfast in the cafeteria, can enter through the front doors and then into the cafeteria. We will not be allowed to let students use microwaves in the lunchroom, so please plan home lunches accordingly. We cannot allow parents to eat in the cafeteria with students for breakfast or lunch. We can no longer allow parents to bring birthday treats or snacks to the classroom. All parent volunteers will be at the discretion of the teacher. When volunteers come, they need to check in at the office and we will do a symptom check. Everyone who enters the building must have a face covering.

Message from Sheriff Wood- I want to personally wish everyone a happy Halloween! With that said I want to remind everybody that we want you to have fun but don’t let Halloween mischief turn criminal. Be respectful of people’s personal property and keep an eye out for the trick or treaters tonight in our travels. We will have extra patrols in the areas we believe will be most impacted by this event. Extra patrols will be conducted with two person teams riding UTV’s in order to assist with traffic/pedestrian control. We feel this is a great opportunity for our Deputies to interact with the public in a fun and positive way. They will have candy to give out to the kids, but would ask that the public only approach our UTV’s when they are safely parked on the curb. We want everyone to have fun, but want to remind everybody to be careful while driving through these busy neighborhoods tonight. I wanted to bring up a topic that has been on my mind a lot recently. The use of social media at times is a blessing and a curse. I would ask that before you make a post, to think about the outcomes of the post and the purpose of your message. All too often I see social media posts that are posted with good intentions, but become a negative message in the community. From a law enforcement standpoint it needs to be known that we cannot always post details of an investigation but will always make public safety a top priority. We will never take unnecessary risks with public safety and will assure you the public will be notified immediately upon a serious and substantiated threat to our community. This notification would come through all media outlets, social media and the phone systems in the event of an actual substantiated issue. The fact that a single unsubstantiated post on social media can spread through the community and cause panic is frustrating. All too often the facts get skewed in the rumor mill, but may be portrayed as actual and factual information which can causes panic in the community. Please be careful of what you post, contact your local law enforcement upon any suspicious activity, questions, or concerns. Trust that your local law enforcement agency is taking your concerns seriously and appropriate measures are in place. You are always welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns that may be related to an event or incident that has occurred in our community. I would like to remind you “if you see something say something”. Again, I would like to wish everyone a happy Halloween, have fun but be careful out there. I am proud to be part of this community and honored to be in the position of Sheriff. We truly live in a great place. Thanks Jeff Wood
