The research is clear, the long term effects are alarming in drop-out rates and students below grade level in reading and math because of patterns of missing school. There is no difference in an excused absence or unexcused absence when it comes to missing school and the effects it has on your kid(s). Every effort should be made to have your kids in school as much as possible.
Excusing an Absence
Please send a note with your student the day he/she is back in school, or within 48 hours from returning to school. The note needs to have the student's full name, date of absence, reason for absence, and a parent signature.
- Notes should be given to the teacher or turned into the office.
- Notes may also be faxed to 435-637-5043.
- Notes may also be emailed to email@example.com
For complete attendance guidelines and extended absences please see the CSD Student/Parent Handbook on pages 7-9. A link to the handbook is provided under the Students & Parents Tab.
*PLEASE NOTE that just because an absence is excused, you may still be asked to meet in regards to your child's attendance. Compulsory Education Violations may still be sought for excessive absences with excuse notes.
Visitor Check-in is REQUIRED
Safety is always a primary concern. When coming to visit the school, please visit the office first.
- Every parent needs to check-in, even if the visit is a short visit.
- Students may be called to the office rather than you going to their classroom to interrupt.
****We appreciate your understanding in supporting our safety measures.****
Internet Usage Plan
In order to access the Internet from the school, each student must have a signed form agreeing to the Internet procedures and expectations. The form can be accessed under the Students & Parent tab.
