After 26 years and 1 month with the Carbon School District Technology Department, Jeremy Ison is preparing for a well-earned retirement.

Jeremy began his career in 1996 with a memorable role description: replacing the cat that used to run wires through the ceilings. As a skinny 16-year-old who could fit into the crawl spaces without falling through the paneling, he quickly became part of a department that would see incredible technological changes over the next three decades.

Throughout his career, Jeremy has enjoyed working alongside the many people who have been part of the district’s technology team and helping schools stay connected through decades of growth and innovation.

Jeremy and his wife, Jill, chose to build their lives in Carbon County because of the strong community, close family ties, and the opportunity to raise their children here. Now, they are excited to welcome their first grandchild this fall.

Retirement won’t mean slowing down. This summer, Jeremy and Jill are setting off on a trip around the world, with hopes of many more adventures ahead. Inspired by years of watching National Geographic as a kid, Jeremy is ready to experience those places in person.

Congratulations, Jeremy, and thank you for your years of dedication to Carbon School District. We wish you and Jill many happy travels and unforgettable memories in retirement!
