The windchill outside says that the feels like is 8 degrees this morning. We will be callig an inside recess at 7:45 am. I need D'Lee and Shannon to bring Stacy's class into your classroom as we are trying to find a sub. for Stacy.

Price City will be doing construction on the canal crossing at the intersection of 400 North and Carbon Avenue. This construction will affect traffic patterns in the area. Construction will begin on or around January 5-the first day of school back from the break. We wanted to give you information about the project so you can plan ahead for student drop off/pick up.
Carbon Avenue will be closed from 200 North to 400 North. You can access the Mont Harmon or the district office by going through Carbonville or from 100 East. Students will not be able to walk down Carbon Avenue-there will be pedestrian crossing for students to access 100 West.
In hope to help traffic to flow, the stop signs at the intersection of Carbon Avenue and 400 North will be removed during the construction. Also there will be no left turns permitted from 400 North onto 100 East. In order to ensure the safety of students crossing the road, there will be no parking/drop off on either shoulder of 400 North in front of the school. Please drop off students in the school main parking lot, the parking lot East of the football field or near the park.
Please refer to the map using this link.
**COMMUNITY MESSAGE**
We have very heavy hearts in the great loss to our Castle Heights Elementary family. Linda Garvin, a beloved 4th grade teacher, died last night due to injuries sustained in an accident. Our Crisis Response Team has been at the school and will continue to provide services for students and staff.
We have resources prepared for parents to help their children as they process grief. Please contact your child’s school if you need help.
We would like to thank the community for the overwhelming support. We would also like to thank you in advance for respecting the families involved by providing the privacy they need.

The student government at Castle Heights is holding a fundraiser raffle in order to purchase a "Friendship Bench" for our playground. If a student needs a friend to play with during recess they can go to the Friendship Bench which signals they need a friend to play with.
We are in week three of our Student Government Friendship Bench Fundraiser! So far, we've sold 133 tickets! Our goal is 500, and we're getting closer every day - only 367 more to go! Each ticket is just $2.00 and can be purchased in the school office, cash only, please. Every ticket you buy enters you into a drawing for a "one-day pass good for two adults" at Brighton Ski Resort!
The drawing will be held on November 25th. You do not need to be present to win. We will call the winner!
