Carbon School District

Dear Parents,
Welcome Back to School!
We are so excited to see all of our students. We hope that the summer has created lasting memories.

The Carbon Child Nutrition Program would like to share some great news about H.B. 100 Food Security Amendment and HB148S01. This bill establishes a program to provide reduced lunches at no cost to families that qualify for the 2026-27 school year. That means, for those who are eligible, the reduced lunch fee will be completely waived. Reduced-price breakfast will be just $0.30 for eligible students.

You are encouraged to complete an online application instead of a paper application if you are able. The online application has the same requirements and will ask you for the same information as the paper application. Visit linqconnect.com to begin or to learn more about the online application process. Contact Melanie Trujillo or Tonya Jones at 435-613-3143 if you have any questions about the online application.

In addition to this exciting update, we want you to know how much we love serving our students healthy, balanced meals. Every lunch includes:
Meat or meat alternatives
Whole grain breads
Milk
Fresh fruits
Vegetables
All our meals are low in fat, reduced sodium, and packed with nutrition to help students learn and grow. Each day, students can choose three meal components, with one being a fruit or vegetable. All of these components are a great way to keep the students fueled and energized to be successful at school.
Thank you for allowing us the privilege of feeding your students healthy, hearty meals every day.
