Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate 3rd grade student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
-Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
-Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
-Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction-
-Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
-Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
-Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
-Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
-Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
-Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
-Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
-Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
-Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
-Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.

The Payroll Clerk provides daily support to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the district’s payroll. Working under the supervision of the Payroll & Budget Supervisor, this position will be responsible for data entry, record-keeping, and employee assistance. This role requires attention to detail, organization, and providing friendly, helpful service. Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages. Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments. Price City will be doing construction on the canal crossing at the intersection of 400 North and Carbon Avenue. This construction will affect traffic patterns in the area. Construction will begin on or around January 5-the first day of school back from the break. We wanted to give you information about the project so you can plan ahead for student drop off/pick up.
Carbon Avenue will be closed from 200 North to 400 North. You can access the Mont Harmon or the district office by going through Carbonville or from 100 East. Students will not be able to walk down Carbon Avenue-there will be pedestrian crossing for students to access 100 West.
In hope to help traffic to flow, the stop signs at the intersection of Carbon Avenue and 400 North will be removed during the construction. Also there will be no left turns permitted from 400 North onto 100 East. In order to ensure the safety of students crossing the road, there will be no parking/drop off on either shoulder of 400 North in front of the school. Please drop off students in the school main parking lot, the parking lot East of the football field or near the park.

We have very heavy hearts in the great loss to our Castle Heights Elementary family. Linda Garvin, a beloved 4th grade teacher, died last night due to injuries sustained in an accident. Our Crisis Response Team has been at the school and will continue to provide services for students and staff.
