Carbon School District is seeking applications for a 5th Grade Teacher at Wellington Elementary School in Wellington, Utah. Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and a Valid Utah Teaching certificate, or willingness to complete the requirements to earn a professional license. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate 5th grade student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
-Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
-Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
-Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction-
-Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
-Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
-Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
-Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
-Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
-Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
-Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
-Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
-Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
-Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.

Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026 to register for Kindergarten. We will be registering students who were born on September 1, 2021 or earlier.

• A copy of the student’s birth certificate is required.
• Proof of immunizations or a valid exemption must be provided at the time of registration.
• Students must register at their boundary school. Families may submit an online boundary waiver request form if they wish to attend a school outside of their boundary area. The Groundskeeper I is responsible for assisting in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of the outdoor grounds and facilities throughout the district. This includes managing the lawns, athletic fields, gardens, playgrounds, and walkways. The
ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and experience working in outdoor environments. This position ensures that all outdoor spaces are safe, aesthetically pleasing, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Grounds Maintenance:
o Mow lawns, trim hedges, and edge walkways to maintain neat and tidy outdoor
areas.
o Maintain and repair fences, gates, and other structures around the school grounds.
o Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules.
o Maintain athletic fields and outdoor courts, including cleaning and preparing them
for school events and sports activities.
Landscape Maintenance:
o Assist school staff to plant, weed, and mulch garden beds to maintain a healthy
and visually appealing environment.
o Trim and prune trees, shrubs, and bushes to enhance safety and appearance.
Cleaning & Safety:
o Ensure that outdoor trash receptacles are emptied and maintained.
o Clean up debris, fallen branches, and litter from walkways, play areas, and other
outdoor spaces.
o Inspect the grounds for safety hazards and report any issues that may pose risks to
students or staff.
Equipment Maintenance:
o Operate and maintain lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping
equipment.
o Ensure that all equipment is in proper working order and report any needed
repairs.
Event Support:
o Set up outdoor areas for sport events and school functions.
o Sports field preparation including painting, grading and grooming of fields.
o Assist with arranging outdoor seating and equipment as required.
Collaboration & Communication:
o Work with other school staff to coordinate work schedules and ensure minimal
disruption to school activities.
o Report any major repairs or maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager or
Custodial Supervisor.
The Groundskeeper must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including hot, cold, or wet
environments.
Work Environment: This position will involve outdoor work in all seasons and may occasionally require work in evenings or weekends for special events or maintenance needs.
