Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Math Intervention Aide at Helper Middle School in Helper, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. Will provide targeted support to general education students who require additional assistance to meet grade-level standards. Will work closely with classroom teachers and the principal to implement individualized and small group interventions, fostering student growth and academic success in mathematics. Will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Will work directly with individual students and small groups of students under the guidance of the classroom teacher and the principal to implement preplanned intervention activities and strategies in mathematics. Provide targeted support in areas such as foundational math skills (number sense, computation, problem-solving), reading fluency, reading comprehension, phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, grammar, and writing skills. Utilize a variety of research-based intervention programs and materials as directed. Reinforce concepts and skills taught in the general education classroom. Adapt and modify instructional materials and activities as needed to meet individual student needs, under the direction of the teacher. Will work approximately 15 hours per week. Apply online at

As you may be aware, HB 142 was passed during the 2026 Legislative Session requiring districts to set a fee waiver limit. That means that once the individual student or family limit is reached, all remaining and additional fees must be paid in full.
Carbon School District Board of Education recently passed a policy setting the individual student limit at $3,000 and family limit at $5,000 per school year. Please see the links below for additional information.
The legislation requires school districts to limit the waived amounts beginning this school year, including fees assessed in the spring for activities that are taking place this year. If you have questions about the total amount waived for your student(s), please contact the appropriate school.
The fee waiver limit does not include school lunch and fees are not charged in elementary schools.
