Kindergarten registration starts next week. Kindergarten Registration is from 9:00am-11:00am on the following dates:

April 20 – Bruin Point Elementary
April 21 – Castle Heights Elementary
April 22 – Creekview Elementary
April 23 – Sally Mauro Elementary
April 24 – Wellington Elementary

Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026 to register for Kindergarten. We will be registering students who were born on September 1, 2021 or earlier.

Please note the following requirements:
• A copy of the student’s birth certificate is required.
• Proof of immunizations or a valid exemption must be provided at the time of registration.
• Students must register at their boundary school. Families may submit an online boundary waiver request form if they wish to attend a school outside of their boundary area. • Proof of residency is required at the time of registration. Families must provide valid documentation verifying that the student and parent or guardian physically reside within school boundaries. Acceptable documentation includes a current lease or mortgage statement, a recent utility bill, state issued ID, or official government correspondence in the parent or guardian’s name showing the in-boundary address.
• In accordance with Utah State Law, all students must be toilet trained in order to attend Kindergarten.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Custodian at Sally Mauro Elementary in Helper, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. The Part-Time Custodian helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for the general cleaning and upkeep of school facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas. Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, and other school areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces as assigned. Empty trash and recycling receptacles; replace liners as needed. Restock restroom and classroom supplies. Assist with setting up and taking down furniture or equipment for school events or meetings. Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting needed repairs. Assist in maintaining building and grounds safety by reporting hazards or damages. Follow district cleaning standards and safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Will work approximately 20 hours per week. Beginning pay is $17.25 per hour. The Utah Developmental Disabilities Council will be holding a Public Comment meeting at the District office on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 3pm-5pm. The Council is developing their new 5 year State Plan for 2027-2031 which will guide their work to identify and improve areas of need for Utahns with Disabilities. The public is invited to review and provide comment on the proposed goals and objectives, as required by law.

Notification for Parents of Sally Mauro:

SEUHD has confirmed a positive measles case of a student at Sally Mauro Elementary. Contact tracing is being performed by the health department, and they are contacting those who may need to take special precautions. All students that are to be excluded from school for a period of time have been notified by the school nurse with those details.

Be aware of measles symptoms for your student:
High Fever
Cough
Runny Nose
Red, watery eyes
A rash that starts on the face and spreads downward
Speak to your student's healthcare provider if you have any concerns about your child's health.
