CSD Parents and Guardians,
As you may be aware, HB 142 was passed during the 2026 Legislative Session requiring districts to set a fee waiver limit. That means that once the individual student or family limit is reached, all remaining and additional fees must be paid in full.
Carbon School District Board of Education recently passed a policy setting the individual student limit at $3,000 and family limit at $5,000 per school year. Please see the links below for additional information.
The legislation requires school districts to limit the waived amounts beginning this school year, including fees assessed in the spring for activities that are taking place this year. If you have questions about the total amount waived for your student(s), please contact the appropriate school.
The fee waiver limit does not include school lunch and fees are not charged in elementary schools.

On Friday (10/30), there is no school for students... however, if a student needs to make up Attendance Probations, we are offering four sessions of Attendance School. If you need this service, please sign up in the school office. Space is limited and the seats go fast.

Zero Fatalities Night will be November 5th at 6 p.m. in the CHS Auditorium. You will need a parent/guardian with you to attend this meeting. You will need a parent cell phone to check in and out of the meeting. Cell phones will not be allowed during the meeting, you will be asked to leave if you use cellphone, earbuds, etc. This meeting has a lot of information and is important to all. Once you enter the meeting you may not leave until it is over at 7 pm. You must be in your seat at 5:55. Front doors will be locked at 5:55 p.m.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Intervention Paraprofessional at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. The Intervention Aide supports high school students in achieving academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success by providing targeted assistance under the direction of certified staff. This position focuses on helping students meet learning goals, reinforcing classroom instruction, and supporting intervention programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide small-group or one-on-one academic support to students in need of intervention.
Assist students in understanding and completing assignments in core subjects.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and intervention staff.
Support positive behavior and reinforce school expectations.
Assist in administering and scoring assessments as directed.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and other designated areas.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to meet student needs.
Participate in training and professional development as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
