CHS is offering two sessions of Attendance School each day next week (Aug 10 - 14). The first session is from 8:00 - 10:00am and the second is from 10:00 - 12:00pm. You must sign up, in person, at the CHS Main Office before you can attend. Each session costs $4.00 and is first-come, first-served. Seats are limited. This is a great opportunity to clear off any Attendance Probations before the school year starts. It is also a great opportunity for participants in athletics or activities to clear off probations before their events start. Regular Attendance School sessions will resume August 24th for the 2026-2027 school year.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Assistant Football Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. The Assistant Football Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the football program. This includes assisting with practice planning, player development, game preparation, and the fostering of a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture that promotes student growth both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:
· Coaching & Player Development:

o Assist in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and workouts.

o Teach fundamentals, strategies, and techniques appropriate to assigned position group(s).

o Support strength and conditioning programs in and out of season.

o Provide individual feedback to athletes to enhance skills and performance.

· Team Support & Supervision:

o Supervise student-athletes at practices, games, travel, and team events.

o Help manage sideline operations during games and provide tactical input to the head coach.

· Program Administration:

o Assist with equipment inventory, setup, and maintenance.

o Help coordinate film review sessions and use of video analysis tools.

o Support academic monitoring and promote academic accountability for players.

· Communication & Collaboration:

o Work cooperatively with other coaches, school staff, and parents.

o Maintain professional conduct at all times as a representative of the program and school.

o Attend coaches meetings, parent meetings, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:
· Experience in coaching football, preferably at the high school or youth level.

· Strong knowledge of football rules, techniques, and safety protocols.

· Ability to relate well to student-athletes and support their development.

· Must be dependable, organized, and committed to team success.

· CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

· Must meet all school district and state coaching requirements (including background checks and certifications).

Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous playing experience in football (high school or higher).

· Experience in coaching a specific position group (e.g., offensive line, defensive backs).

· Familiarity with HUDL or similar film analysis software.

Free Sport Physical Exam Information

The following information is about free sports physicals being offered to student-athletes in our community. By UHSAA policy, all student athletes must have a new physical every school year, NOT PRIOR TO MARCH 10 OF THE PREVIOUS SCHOOL YEAR. All three pages of the UHSAA health exam form must be filled out and signed, and either turned in to the school where you will be participating or uploaded into your student's Aktivate account. You can upload a copy of the required form at uhsaa.org/forms/forma.pdf

Carbon Medical - Carbon Medical will be offering free physicals during working hours. You will need to schedule an appointment to be seen by one of their physicians. Carbon Medical offers this option throughout the year.

Puzzle Pediatrics - Dr. Criddle will be offering free physicals during the week of July 13 - July 16. You will need to call and schedule an appointment.

Dr. Kelley Jensen - Dr. Jensen will be hosting a free physical night at his office on July 22nd from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Please do not call to schedule an appointment for this event. Make sure you show up with your physical papers filled out and ready to go, as it will make the process go much smoother. Your physical will be collected on-site for this event.

There will be a yearbook signing party on Monday, May 18th, following the ESPY awards in the cafeteria. There is a $1.00 charge. Students will receive their yearbooks. If students do not attend, they can pick up their yearbooks on Tuesday between 8 AM and 11 AM in the gym. Yearbooks will NOT be available for purchase on Monday night- only on Tuesday starting at 8 AM. Please be sure to purchase a yearbook using the link on the school website before Saturday at midnight.
