CHS senior parents. Tomorrow (Friday) January 12 the credit recovery lab will be open from 10:30-1:00 for seniors who would like to come in and work on credit recovery. This is a good opportunity for students working on credit recovery to get some extra work in.

Under the direction of the Head Coach will coordinate practices, manage matches, oversee the growth of the program, and promote a safe and competitive environment. Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off-school property. Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times. Must have successful coaching experience in Volleyball and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Dear CSD Parents and Guardians,
Early this morning several CSD employees received an email stating that there was a potential threat to schools. We involved our tech department and law enforcement to help us understand the legitimacy of the threat.
We have since learned that the message was sent statewide and to districts in other states. At this point, the message is considered a hoax by law enforcement.
We will share any updates pertinent to Carbon School District students. The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority.

As our winter weather approaches, we would like to communicate our district's plan to safely transport students during heavy snowfall. COMMUNICATION WILL BE PROVIDED ANY TIME THERE IS AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE NORMAL SCHOOL DAY.
The following plan will be implemented when we experience heavy snowfall such that we cannot safely transport students to school as normally scheduled.
1. Carbon School District does not intend to cancel school for snow. We will use a "Late Start" schedule through the winter months. All district schedules will be adjusted by two (2) hours. For instance, if your child boards the bus at 7:00 on a normal day, they would board at 9:00 on a "Late Start" day. If school starts at 8:10 on a normal day, it will start at 10:10 on a "Late Start" day. The schools will ALWAYS end at the normal time.
2. In most cases, decisions cannot be made until the morning of the heavy snowfall. If an adjustment to the regular schedule is necessary, parents will be notified by 6:00 a.m. using our parent notification system. In addition, messages will be posted on all school and district websites and social media.
3. All Carbon School District preschool programs will be canceled on "Late Start" days.

The Assistant Football Coach assists the Head Football Coach in promoting an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Football Coach assists in providing leadership and supervision for team and individual sports, and works closely with the other staff and administration. Assist in the coordination and supervision of the Football program and team. Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Assist in the design of a training program and game program. Assist in the organization and supervision of the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented. Ensure that all athletic activities conform to UHSAA guidelines. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Just a reminder that Carbon High School will be dismissing students early tomorrow (Friday at 2:20PM) in preparation for the Dave Smith Wrestling Tournament. Busses, however, will still run at the same times. Students riding busses may wait in the school commons areas or arrange for other means of transportation home. Attention Parents: The fire alarm went off at the high school about 20 minutes ago. The school was evacuated as we have regularly prepared. Fire personnel responded to the scene, cleared the situation and determined it was safe to return into the building. We have extended lunch until 1:00pm. Students are to report to class by 1:04pm. The day will resume as normal.

CHS parents we have received questions regarding when the 1st quarter honor roll will be posted. We had a great first quarter where 65% of our students made the honor roll. However, we are not able to post names publicly unless parents have given permission in the the registration materials. We have not had very many parents complete the registration materials, this prevents us from being able to release names for things like the honor roll. If you haven't already completed the returning student registration this school year please get on and complete it. Registration/Enrollment helps us have updated contact and emergency contact for students as well as updated parent emails. Below is a link to complete the returning registration.
