
Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Full time Custodian at Carbon High School. The school custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature.The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. Will work under the direction of the school principal and lead custodian. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous experience in janitorial work. Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. This full time position will include benefits. We are excited to have the first day of school tomorrow at CHS. we wanted to make you aware of some notes about tomorrow. We have a great new parking lot, the upper lot by the marquee is for busses and costruction parking. There is a parent drop off lane in the middle lot in front of the building. Signs are up in the halls to help students find new teachers rooms. Teachers and staff will be in the halls to help guide students to class. There is construction still happening so there are areas that will be off limits. We will give students guidelines tomorrow during first period. When the first bell rings at 8:05 students will report to thier 1st period.

We are excited to be hosting Emery tonight for our endowment game. Because it is an endowment game passes are not valid. Admission will be $5 for adults, $3 for high school students, children and senior citizens. The regular parking lot is open and available for parking. The baseball parking lot will be closed tonight.

We are excited for the start of our football season with our annual Blue/White Scrimmage tonight. The freshmen/sophomore game will begin at 5:00 pm. The Varsity/JV game will begin at 7:00. Due to construction there will not be any parking in the high school parking lot. Fans may park in the baseball field parking lot and walk up to the field. Fans may also park in the front of the district office and a shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes to the field. The shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes beginning at 4:30 all the way through the end of the varsity/jv game. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Carbon High School summer school students, this week's summer school will be moved from Mont Harmon to the technology lab at the district office. it will still begin at the normal time.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Lunch Worker. Duties include entering student account numbers into the Aspire system as students come through cafeteria lines, collecting account payments, applying payments to student and staff accounts, notifying parents/guardians of account deficits, and tracking data for monthly reports. Other duties include helping as needed in the kitchen and communicating with school administration, faculty and staff. Food handler permit is required upon hiring. Will work approximately 20 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Summer school for the days of July 20-23 will be canceled. Mont Harmon will be without water.

Carbon High Fall 2021 Athletes!
If you are planning on participating in athletics and activities at Carbon High School this fall, you MUST complete the following prior to your tryouts:
1. Go to registermyathlete.com and register your child. You need to follow along with the software and complete all of the forms. You can obtain a student-athlete physical form during the registration process.
2. Your child will need a physical to play sports at Carbon High School. You may use your family doctor for your child's physical or CHS has set up an evening for your child to get a physical at Dr. Kelly Jensen's office on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 5:00 PM. These physicals are free for Carbon High students and are first-come, first-serve.
3. Once your child has completed their physical, please bring it to our Carbon High School office, which is temporarily located at the Carbon School District Office Building (the entrance is on the west side of the building under the Adult Education sign). You may also take care of any fees at this time.
Again, the Carbon High School office is temporarily located on the west side of the Carbon School District Building and is open Monday - Thursday from 8:00 - 3:00 PM.

Parents due to construction at the high school the main office has temporarily relocated to the District Office. We will be operating out of the adult education office. You can find us on the west side of the building. Above the entrance is a sign that says adult education. We will be open 7:30-3:00 Monday- Thursday during the summer.

Seniors and Parents,
We are excited for the Carbon High School graduation ceremony this morning on the football field. Remember that you can begin dropping off family at 9:30 behind the school. Graduation will begin promptly at 11:00am.
THERE IS NO PARKING BEHIND THE SCHOOL
Please drop off and then drive around and park in the front of the school. You can also park at the bus garage or at the LDS church.

If you have not turned in your blue checkout form you will NOT be able to get your tickets for graduation or participate in the graduation practice today. You will need to come to the school today before 1:00pm and get checked out at the school.

The Carbon High ESPY awards will be a drive through event. Please plan to stay in your vehicle and listen live on air. Tune into 107.3 fm or 750 am. When your name is called you can drive up or walk up and receive your award.

Remember that Carbon High will be on Early Out schedule Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Busses will run for all CHS students on the Early Out schedule.
Seniors are invited to participate in the Senior Walk tomorrow. They can attend the walk at any of the schools, however it is recommended they walk at the schools they attended . This is a great opportunity for Seniors to visits their old schools, see their old teachers and inspire younger students. The schedule for the Senior walk is as follows
