Carbon School District is seeking applications for a 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher at Creekview Elementary School in Price, Utah. Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Must have a valid Utah Teaching certificate, or willingness to complete the requirements to earn a professional license. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate 3rd grade student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed. Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees. Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records. Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation. Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Creekview Elementary has 3 open positions for parent members of the school community council. These positions are for 2 years, and you must have a child enrolled in the school. This council works on school safety, digital citizenship, and determining how to use the school trustland money. It is about 5 meetings after school throughout each school year. Great News! Creekview students…YOUR STUDENT…has exceeded their reading expectation goals for this year and that means it is time to CELEBRATE! This is actually quite a big deal and we are very excited and want to honor them with a parade on Monday, May 13. The parade will start at 12:30 pm on the corner of 300 West and 200 South. They will parade down to 500 South and return to the school. It would be awesome if all our parents and family would come line both sides of 300 West Street to watch, cheer and celebrate this huge success with them. Please, please, please come join us! The office will not be available during the parade.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Approximately an hour ago we had a report of a potential dangerous person at Carbon High School and the school was immediately put on lock down.
Administration and local law enforcement responded and the situation was found to be an unsubstantiated threat.
The lock down has been lifted and all after school activities have resumed as normal.
We appreciate all involved including the community members who followed guidance from law enforcement and district personnel.

Carbon District is reviewing language arts curriculum for adoption in grades K-5 beginning the 2024 school year. The Utah State Board of Education mandated curriculums must meet specific criteria in the science of reading. We are considering three that meet the current curriculum guidelines: McGraw Hill’s WONDERS program, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s INTO READING & Amplify’s CORE KNOWLEDGE LANGUAGE ARTS (CKLA). Teachers at elementary schools have been completing reviews of the programs & evaluating for those being considered. Parents/stakeholders are invited to review the programs on Mon, March 25th from 3-6 pm or Tues, March 26th from 8:11 am at the District Office, 251 W 400 N, Price, UT
