Next week is Read Across America Week. We will be celebrating Dr. Suess as follows: Monday- Hat Day, Tuesday- Silly Socks, Wednesday-Crazy Hair, Thursday- Favorite Dr. Seuss Character and Friday is wear something green. We would love the students to join in the fun!

Creekview PTA will be hosting a Book Fair this week in conjunction with Parent Teacher Conferences. Please join us in the library on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:40 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 2:40 to 3:00 p.m. Also we hope to see you all at Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday or Thursday.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Music Specialist at Creekview Elementary in Price, Utah. Music specialist who will plan and deliver music lessons for students in K-5th grade. Dear CSD Parents and Guardians,
Early this morning several CSD employees received an email stating that there was a potential threat to schools. We involved our tech department and law enforcement to help us understand the legitimacy of the threat.
We have since learned that the message was sent statewide and to districts in other states. At this point, the message is considered a hoax by law enforcement.
We will share any updates pertinent to Carbon School District students. The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority.

As our winter weather approaches, we would like to communicate our district's plan to safely transport students during heavy snowfall. COMMUNICATION WILL BE PROVIDED ANY TIME THERE IS AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE NORMAL SCHOOL DAY.
The following plan will be implemented when we experience heavy snowfall such that we cannot safely transport students to school as normally scheduled.
1. Carbon School District does not intend to cancel school for snow. We will use a "Late Start" schedule through the winter months. All district schedules will be adjusted by two (2) hours. For instance, if your child boards the bus at 7:00 on a normal day, they would board at 9:00 on a "Late Start" day. If school starts at 8:10 on a normal day, it will start at 10:10 on a "Late Start" day. The schools will ALWAYS end at the normal time.
2. In most cases, decisions cannot be made until the morning of the heavy snowfall. If an adjustment to the regular schedule is necessary, parents will be notified by 6:00 a.m. using our parent notification system. In addition, messages will be posted on all school and district websites and social media.
3. All Carbon School District preschool programs will be canceled on "Late Start" days.
