Thursday 2/26: HMS students are BRIGHT! Wear neon.
Friday 2/27: Music Genre Day! Dress like your favorite music artist/group. Basketball gone at tournaments.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Boys Head Wrestling Coach at Helper Middle School in Helper, Utah. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a high school diploma and be able to pass a Live Scan Fingerprint background screening. responsibility for the overall operation of the Boys wrestling program in accordance with district and CVAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the team. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program. Must have successful wrestling coaching experience and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed. Will schedule competitions and make arrangements. Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Performs other related duties as assigned. Will work approximately 10 hours per week. ***This position begins with the 2026-2027 school year***

HMS winter sports yearbook photos will be tomorrow, January 13th after lunches. The following teams need to make sure they are wearing the singlet/warmups or jersey of coach choice; girls wrestling, boys wrestling, girls basketball and boys basketball. Price City will be doing construction on the canal crossing at the intersection of 400 North and Carbon Avenue. This construction will affect traffic patterns in the area. Construction will begin on or around January 5-the first day of school back from the break. We wanted to give you information about the project so you can plan ahead for student drop off/pick up.

Carbon Avenue will be closed from 200 North to 400 North. You can access the Mont Harmon or the district office by going through Carbonville or from 100 East. Students will not be able to walk down Carbon Avenue-there will be pedestrian crossing for students to access 100 West.

In hope to help traffic to flow, the stop signs at the intersection of Carbon Avenue and 400 North will be removed during the construction. Also there will be no left turns permitted from 400 North onto 100 East. In order to ensure the safety of students crossing the road, there will be no parking/drop off on either shoulder of 400 North in front of the school. Please drop off students in the school main parking lot, the parking lot East of the football field or near the park.

**COMMUNITY MESSAGE**
We have very heavy hearts in the great loss to our Castle Heights Elementary family. Linda Garvin, a beloved 4th grade teacher, died last night due to injuries sustained in an accident. Our Crisis Response Team has been at the school and will continue to provide services for students and staff.

We have resources prepared for parents to help their children as they process grief. Please contact your child’s school if you need help.
