The Head Wrestling Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the wrestling program at Helper Middle School in accordance with district and  CVAA rules and regulations. Congratulations to the 128 HMS students who qualified for the honor activity for 2nd quarter grades and citizenship!!! They will be traveling by bus to Price on Friday, February 2, 2024 to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. HMS will pay for your students admission and "kids pack" for a snack. Parents, if your student qualified, please make sure they are to school on time because the bus will leave shortly after school starts. If your student did not qualify, they will be able to work on 3rd quarter work to help them get eligible for the next activity. We are so incredibly proud of our RAMS and the hard work they did during 2nd quarter! Go RAMS.

Carbon High School is holding a transition night for 8th grade students on February 12th that we want to promote. As always, if you cannot attend on February 13, 2024, you can reach out to your child's teachers and arrange another time to meet. If you have an 8th grade student, there will be more information to come about the transition night. There is also a spaghetti dinner included! Dear CSD Parents and Guardians, Early this morning several CSD employees received an email stating that there was a potential threat to schools. We involved our tech department and law enforcement to help us understand the legitimacy of the threat. We have since learned that the message was sent statewide and to districts in other states. At this point, the message is considered a hoax by law enforcement. We will share any updates pertinent to Carbon School District students. CSD Parents, As our winter weather approaches, we would like to communicate our district's plan to safely transport students during heavy snowfall. COMMUNICATION WILL BE PROVIDED ANY TIME THERE IS AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE NORMAL SCHOOL DAY. The following plan will be implemented when we experience heavy snowfall such that we cannot safely transport students to school as normally scheduled. 1. Carbon School District does not intend to cancel school for snow. We will use a "Late Start" schedule through the winter months. All district schedules will be adjusted by two (2) hours. For instance, if your child boards the bus at 7:00 on a normal day, they would board at 9:00 on a "Late Start" day. If school starts at 8:10 on a normal day, it will start at 10:10 on a "Late Start" day. The schools will ALWAYS end at the normal time. 2. In most cases, decisions cannot be made until the morning of the heavy snowfall. If an adjustment to the regular schedule is necessary, parents will be notified by 6:00 a.m. using our parent notification system. In addition, messages will be posted on all school and district websites and social media. 3. All Carbon School District preschool programs will be canceled on "Late Start" days. Must know the proper use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs and seat belt; will assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers; maintain student discipline; supervise and assist students in transit; report any concerns regarding students to the driver and to the appropriate building staff.; know the school bus evacuation procedures and be physically capable to evacuate students in an emergency; learn the bus route and provide route information that includes driver directions for the best way to reach a location for a substitute or newly assigned bus driver, occupy a seat that provides the best opportunity for student supervision while the bus is in motion.  Can work up to 20 hours per week. 6th grade parents/guardians, do not forget that the bus for the field trip tomorrow October 11th leaves at 7:35 AM SHARP. Please make sure your student is to school no later that 7:25 AM. Remember if they did not order a lunch from the cafeteria, they need to bring a home lunch. 7th grade parents/guardians, the bus for Glen Ray's Corn Maze leaves HMS at approximately 8:20 AM. Please make sure your student is on time for school. Remember they are getting pizza served for lunch, but they are also welcome to bring a home lunch. 8th grade parents/guardians, this is a wonderful time for your student to make up any missing work with their teachers before the end of the quarter. They will have a normal day, so please ensure your student is in attendance.
