Thank you all for your patience and support today as we managed the snow!! Our schools were full and kids had a wonderfully normal day.
As of tonight, our plan is to run buses and start school at the normal time tomorrow morning.
We will continue to monitor the weather reports, accumulation, ice, and plowing efforts.
We will notify everyone by 6:00 am tomorrow if there will be a late start. If you do not receive a text notification by 6:00am with information about a late start, then all buses and schools will be on their regular schedule.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for Substitute Bus Drivers. Bus drivers must be able to qualify for a Utah CDL drivers license with school bus endorsement. Will provide paid training for all qualified applicants. Will work approximately 29 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Carbon School District is seeking applications for Guest Teachers throughout the District. Guest Teachers provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. Guest Teachers execute lesson plans left by the absent teacher. Guest Teachers create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Guest Teachers monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures. Must be a high school graduate and be at least age 18. Will be required to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check as well as a one hour online training course. Pay is $100 for a full day and $50 for a half day. HMS Parents: Tomorrow 11/16 the transportation department will be conducting emergency evacuation drills on the morning bus routes. Some of the routes will be delayed around 5-8 minutes for these drills. Thank you

Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Intensive Intervention Aide at Helper Middle School in Helper, Utah. Delivers educational interventions designed by Special Education teachers to help students meet educational, academic, life skills, behavioral, physical, social and emotional goals. Assists teachers with Special Education students to enable learning with minimal disruptions to other students. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, the Special Education Aide may provide a variety of support and assistance, and should be flexible adjusting to student needs. Will work approximately 29 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background screening. Starting pay is $13.32 per hour. HMS Parents: Tomorrow is our 1st quarter honor activity. Students could qualify with grades or citizenship. We will cover the cost of the bowling. Students wanting snacks or games will need to bring their own money.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Head Wrestling Coach at Helper Middle School in Helper, Utah.
The Head Wrestling Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the wrestling program at Helper Middle School in accordance with district and CVAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the team. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program. Must have successful wrestling coaching experience and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed. Will schedule competitions and make arrangements. Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Performs other related duties as assigned. HMS Parents: Picture packets have arrived and are being sent home with students today. Retakes are Thursday if you would like a replacement or missed the first opportunity.

HMS Parents: Due to the highway construction Martin Rd and the Frontage Rd by Pick and Rail in Helper are blocked. Buses will not be able to drop off in those areas. Please plan to pick up your students or notify us to have them walk.

HMS Parents: Boys wrestling parent meeting will be Thursday Oct. 20 at 5:15 right after practice.

HMS Parents: reminder today is the 6th grade field trip. 6th graders need to be here by 7:50am with a lunch.

HMS Parents: Thank you to all who voted in the School Community Council Elections. We had great participation both in candidates and voting. Our two new council members with two year terms are Audrey Wise and Erin Bunn.

HMS Parents: 6th Grade Field trip on Wed. October 12 to the Christa McAuliffe Space Center in Pleasant Grove. The bus is leaving at 7:50 Please be here on-time. We will return before the end of school. Students need to bring a lunch unless they order one from the cafeteria.
