HMS Parents: Welcome to the first day of school! We are still in construction mode and will be having some paving done tomorrow. We will have some cones and caution tape on each side of the road. Please plan to pull over in those spots to let your students out - no parking in these zones only loading and unloading. Watch for other students please.
If you are intending to walk your student in please park down the road to avoid any congestion and do not park by the red curb. We will have some RAMS letters by the main entrance for photos.
We anticipate paving lasting most of the day so please set an alternate location to meet your child after school if are you picking them up as there is limited parking in front. See you tomorrow - Go RAMS.

They are usually the first line of communication when parents call or visit a school. School secretaries order and inventory supplies and verify information in notes from doctors and parents. The secretary may attend meetings and record the proceedings. Collects fees and/or funds from student events (e.g. field trips, uniforms, ticket sales, yearbooks, dances, fundraisers, student fee money, etc.). Coordinates a variety of programs and/or activities. Maintains a variety of computerized and manual records, files, and department databases (e.g. information packets, rosters/listings, calendars, outstanding supply orders, etc.). Maintains inventory of supplies and materials (e.g. forms, office supplies, etc.). Performs record keeping and general clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, faxing, mailings, etc.). Duties include entering student account numbers into the Aspire system as students come through cafeteria lines, collecting account payments, applying payments to student and staff accounts, notifying parents/guardians of account deficits, and tracking data for monthly reports. Other duties include helping as needed in the kitchen and communicating with school administration, faculty and staff. Food handler permit is required upon hiring. HMS Parents: Cross County summer open gym starts June 13th from 7am @ HMS - Girls basketball open gym started May 31 on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3 to 4:15 @ Sally Mauro - Boys Football Open Gym starting June 1 on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm. - Girls Volleyball Open Gym starts June 8 on Wednesdays from 9 to11 am. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Art Teacher at Helper Middle School. The Art Teacher's responsibilities include sourcing art supplies, preparing lessons, and providing developmentally-appropriate engaging instruction on art techniques. Will manage a classroom in a way that encourages creativity and self-expression among students from grades 6th – 8th. Art Teacher responsibilities include planning lessons on in accordance with state and students' learning objectives, preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment, developing students' drawing, coloring, and painting techniques, providing instruction on the various uses of use of electronic and traditional media such as graphite and charcoal pencils, as well as oil, acrylic, and watercolor paint, assigning and grading projects and examinations, recording and reporting on students' progress, monitoring inventory and sourcing art supplies, as needed, attending faculty and parent-teacher meetings. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with teaching qualification, or equivalent, demonstrated excellence in a variety of art techniques, excellent verbal and written communication skills, capacity to supervise group work, outstanding planning and problem-solving skills, supportive, flexible disposition.
