PTO Reminder:
Butterbraid order forms were sent home last week. As the only school in the tri-county area selling them, this is our most delicious fundraiser of the year!

Last year, we raised $4,000, which funded archery team shirts, the Halloween carnival, a math program, teacher and staff appreciation, assemblies, the science fair, field day, and many other activities for our kids.

Please turn in all order forms and payments by September 30th. If you prefer to opt out of selling and make a direct donation instead, you can drop off a check payable to "Sally Mauro PTO" at the office.

The senior class of 2027 would like to invite the class of 2039 to join them in our
traditional walk on the CHS football field

When: September 30 @ 6:30 pm
Where: CHS Football Field, North Side
Who: Class of 2027 & Class of 2039

What: CHS’s 3 annual Kindergarten-Senior Walk. Kindergarteners and
Seniors will walk toward each other from opposite sides of the football
field and meet on the 50 yard line where our seniors will pass the torch
to the next generation of Carbon Dinos. Wear Carbon Colors!
There will be food trucks on site for the Dino Allstar Rally

Help! Our last message got less attention than a plate of broccoli at a pizza party. We have so many awesome things planned for the kids this year, but we literally can’t do them without more hands on deck. We promise not to trap you into a lifetime commitment! Even 30 minutes helps. Back-to-School Night is tomorrow, August 26th, from 6:00–7:00 p.m.

Sally Mauro Elementary is looking for parents who are interested in serving on our School Community Council (SCC)!

If you would like to get involved and help support our school and students, we encourage you to stop by the school office to pick up and complete a 2026–2027 SCC Candidate Application before September 1, 2026.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a SPED Paraprofessional to work at Sally Mauro Elementary in Helper, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Screen fingerprint background screening. The Intensive Intervention Aide delivers educational interventions designed by Special Education teachers to help students meet educational, academic, life skills, behavioral, physical, social and emotional goals. Assists teachers with Special Education students to enable learning with minimal disruptions to other students. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, the Special Education Aide may provide a variety of support and assistance, and should be flexible adjusting to student needs. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Librarian at Sally Mauro Elementary School in Helper, Utah. Must have the ability to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Responsible for organizing and managing collections of journals, books, magazines, newspapers, electronic documents, and other data resources. Provide leadership in learning resources and instructional support to work with students, faculty, and families. Provide all students and faculty with an enriched library environment. Additional duties include morning and lunch supervision, assisting with substituting as needed and other duties assigned by the administrator. Will work approximately 29 hours per week. 2026-2027 School lunch prices

Carbon School District has opened registration for the 2026-2027 school year. We are so excited to welcome our students back for another year!

Parents/guardians of RETURNING STUDENTS will use the Parent Portal to complete registration. Simply login and click on the "Returning Student Registration 2026-2027" link in the portal. It will be on the bottom of the left side of your screen.

Parents/guardians of RETURNING STUDENTS who have not yet created a Parent Portal account, please contact your child's school on MONDAY, AUGUST 3 to obtain the access ID and password from the school secretary. You will need this information when you create your Parent Portal account.

Parents/guardians of NEW STUDENTS should use the "New Student Registration for 2026-2027" link on the district or school web page. This option is for students who are NEW TO THE DISTRICT.

CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood preferred . Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background screening. Lesson plan for classroom instruction following Utah Preschool Core Standards, complete DOT assessments on students. Attend IEP meetings for SPED students. Plan, implement and track progress on IEP goals. Provide individual care including diapering and toileting. Supervise classroom aides. Communicate with parents. . This position assists in classroom instruction, supervision, and student support services to promote academic and social growth. Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and the implementation of lesson plans. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts. Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, lunchrooms, and during arrival/dismissal. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Perform other related duties as assigned.
