Thank you all for your patience and support today as we managed the snow!! Our schools were full and kids had a wonderfully normal day.
As of tonight, our plan is to run buses and start school at the normal time tomorrow morning.
We will continue to monitor the weather reports, accumulation, ice, and plowing efforts.
We will notify everyone by 6:00 am tomorrow if there will be a late start. If you do not receive a text notification by 6:00am with information about a late start, then all buses and schools will be on their regular schedule.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Librarian at Sally Mauro Elementary School in Helper, Utah. Must have some knowledge of the workings of a library, be able to work well with students, teachers and other educational staff. Will provide media services for students, teaching staff and building-level administration in a helpful, positive, congenial and flexible manner. Assists students and teachers in the use of library facilities and services in the selection of library materials. Performs circulation duties including checking books in and out, sorting and shelving books, and keeping circulation records. Processes new books and materials, keeps track of where books are located. Maintains shelf list. Contacts students about overdue or damaged materials and collects fines. Processes new materials. Maintain discipline in the library. Other duties as assigned. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. This is a part time position, approximately 29 hours per week. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. Beginning pay is $14.92 per hour. Carbon County Sheriff's office in coordination with Sally Mauro Elementary, Castleview Hospital and Carbon County Emergency Management, plan on doing an active shooter training on April 24 after school. They are looking for volunteers to participate in this training. Students will be bringing home a flyer from the Carbon County Sheriff's office today. There will be a meeting at Sally Mauro on January 11, 2023 at 3:30pm in the auditorium to answer any questions you have about this or how you can participate. Please read it, and feel free to reach out to the school or Sheriff's department if you have any questions.

Will provide paid training for all qualified applicants. Will work approximately 29 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Carbon School District is seeking applications for Guest Teachers throughout the District. Guest Teachers provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. Guest Teachers execute lesson plans left by the absent teacher. Guest Teachers create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Guest Teachers monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures. Must be a high school graduate and be at least age 18. Will be required to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check as well as a one hour online training course. Pay is $100 for a full day and $50 for a half day. Breakfast with Buddies is tomorrow Thursday, November 17, 2022. Students may bring an adult to enjoy READING and breakfast in the Sally Mauro Auditorium before school. It will be from 7:30 -8:00. This event is sponsored by the PTA.
Tomorrow morning is picture retake day. Please send back the picture packet with your child in order to have retakes done.
Reminder: Student Govt is doing the Food Drive from Nov 14-21. It is a grade level competition. See attached flyer for more information.
