The Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; Evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives; Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP. Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques. Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals. Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP. Conducts special education evaluations and reevaluations. Provides direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed. Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations. Completes all district and state reporting requirements. Establishes and maintains student control and discipline in the classroom, school premises or during school activities. Collaborates and consults with educational professionals and community service providers (i.e., social services, public health, medical providers etc.) regarding the needs of students. Minimum B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate special education area. Current Utah teaching license in required content area. The Special Education IEP support teacher will be responsible for assisting with UPIPS monitoring requirements, file reviews, and supporting special education teachers in the development and compliance of IEP files. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Child Nutrition Program Supervisor. The Child Nutrition Program Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) throughout the school district. The job functions will include administrating, planning, directing, and evaluating the program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs of students.
Position responsibilities include establish quality standards for the presentation and service of food; implement a department-wide customer service philosophy focused on value and satisfaction; develop cost-effective menus that maintain nutritional integrity and meet state and federal guidelines and regulations; assess student preferences, industry trends, and current research to plan menus that encourage participation in the CNP. Work with school staff, teachers, parents, and physicians to plan menus for students with special nutrition needs. Establish procedures to ensure food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe environment. Integrate employee safety regulations into all phases of the school food service operation.
Manage the CNP using appropriate financial management techniques
Ensure all records and supporting documentation are maintained in accordance with district, state and federal laws and policies.
Oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of departmental staff
Must have a knowledge of menu planning, food purchasing, and preparation of foods in food service environment, experience with budget management, experience supervising personnel and strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Foods and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Science, Culinary Arts, Business, or related field* OR Bachelor’s degree in any academic major and at least two years of relevant school nutrition programs experience* OR an Associate’s degree in one of the following areas: Foods and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Science, Culinary Arts, Business, or related field and at least two years of relevant school nutrition programs experience*
