Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Special Education Paraprofessional at Bruin Point Elementary in Sunnyside, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. araprofessional provides support to students with disabilities in grades K–5, working closely with special education teachers and general education staff to help create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. This role focuses on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support, ensuring students have access to their individualized education program (IEP) services and can participate meaningfully in the school day. Support students with disabilities in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings. Reinforce learning objectives introduced by the teacher through supplemental activities and instruction. Assist students with activities of daily living such as toileting, dressing, feeding, or mobility, as needed. Provide behavioral support using positive behavior interventions and strategies. Help implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student IEPs. Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, arrival/dismissal, and other non-classroom times as assigned. Assist in preparing classroom materials and setting up learning environments. Support communication between students and teachers, using tools such as visuals, gestures, or assistive technology. Document student performance, behaviors, and interventions for review by the special education team. Other duties as assigned. Experience working with young children and/or students with disabilities preferred. Must have an Associate’s degree, 48 college credit hours, or passing score on a state-approved Paraprofessional Assessment (e.g., ParaPro). Will work approximately 29 hours per week. The deadline to order and pay for an extended yearbook is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 14th. The cost is $15.00 per yearbook.
Tomorrow is our field trip to the Public Safety building. Please have your student wear good walking shoes and bring a light jacket or hoodie.
Thursday, May 15th the 3rd graders will be going on their field trip to USU-E. They do not need to arrive early that day. They will leave after breakfast.
