Please watch your child for the following symptoms. If your child has the symptoms below, you should call your child’s healthcare provider for guidance on treatment and when they can return to school.
• Redness or swelling of the white of the eye or inside the eyelids
• An increased amount of tears
• Eye discharge which may be clear, yellow, white, or green
• Itchy, irritated, and/or burning eyes
• Gritty feeling in the eye
• Crusting of the eyelids or lashes
• Contact lenses that feel uncomfortable and/or do not stay in place on the eye

We are seeing an increased number of students with conjunctivitis or “pink eye” at your child’s school. Pink eye is an inflammation of the inside of the eyelid (conjunctiva) and the white part of the eyeball. This inflammation makes blood vessels more visible and gives the eye a pink or reddish color. Pink eye is spread from person to person in different ways. It is usually spread through:
• Contact from touching or shaking hands
• The air by coughing and sneezing
• Touching an object or surface with germs on it, then rubbing your eyes before washing your hands

Ballots for School Community Council (SCC) Elections will be coming home with your student tomorrow. If you receive more than one, please only return one to the school. Please vote for the candidate of your choosing and return the ballot to the school next week before Sept. 15th.

We have an update for you on the error this morning with the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The problem is within the Document Delivery feature of PowerSchool. They are diligently working on a solution for us and we hope to have an answer very soon.
We will communicate with you once the problem has been resolved. It is our highest priority.

Earlier this morning we sent emails to parents with access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. There were issues that we found and we have since shut off the Parent Portal access until the problems are resolved.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through this huge implementation.
We will communicate with you as soon as we have the issues resolved.
School Community Council (SCC) nominations are due on Wednesday, Sept 6th.
If you are interested in being a part of SCC, please fill out the form your child brought home.
If you need another one, please contact the office and we will make sure one comes home.
Elections ballots will be sent home the week of Sept 11th.

Back to School 8/24/2023 @5PM
BPE will be holding our BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT on Thursday, August 24th from 5-6:30pm.
We will meet in the cafeteria for a General Meeting, then dismiss for parents to visit classrooms. We will have two sessions for classroom visits. Following the visits, we will be serving dinner.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for Substitute Bus Drivers throughout the district. Bus drivers must be able to qualify for a Utah CDL drivers license with school bus endorsement. Will provide paid training for all qualified applicants. Will work approximately 29 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. We're excited for Carbon Football's kickoff to the season this Friday, August 11 at 7:00 pm against Hillcrest High! This game is a State Endowment Game, which means that all gate fees are sent to UHSAA. As in years past, per UHSAA guidelines, everyone must pay because no passes (including student activity cards) are accepted. Please note that NO CASH or cards will be taken at the gates. Carbon School District is seeking applications for an After School Aide. Will work in the After School Program at the Elementary level. Positions available at Creekview Elementary in Price and Bruin Point Elementary in Sunnyside. Must be able to work well with young children and be able to take direction from the supervising teacher. Will work approximately 19 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. Beginning pay is $14.92 per hour. This is a 29 hour per week position with pay ranging from $14.92 to $16.71 dependent upon which position the person is working.
