
Carbon School District is seeking applications for a 5th grade teacher at Bruin Point Elementary School in Sunnyside, Utah. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed. Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees. Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records. Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation. Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Must have a State of Utah Certification in grades K-6 or have qualified to receive an APT or ARL license from the Utah Board of Education or be able to change an out of state license to a Utah license or be willing to obtain such.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
In response to Gov. Herbert's new COVID-19 guidelines Bruin Point Elementary School, under the direction of Carbon School District Administration, will be putting into place new guidelines/requirement for the next two weeks, beginning today, November 9 and ending November 23, 2020.
Guidelines/Requirements are as follows;
• Masks must cover both nose and mouth, be secure under the chin and fit snuggly against the side of the nose and face.
• If students do not have a mask that fits properly, they will be sent to the office to get a disposable mask.
• Masks will be worn at all times, including recess, with the exception of while students are eating.
• If students do not wear their mask properly, they will receive 2 warnings then be referred to the office and parents will be contacted and student may be sent home.
We are asking for your help to instill the importance of following the prescribed guideline/requirements. Our goal is to keep students in school and safe.

Duties include entering student account numbers into the Aspire system as students come through cafeteria lines, collecting account payments, applying payments to student and staff accounts, notifying parents/guardians of account deficits, and tracking data for monthly reports. Carbon School District is seeking application for a full time Custodian. Custodians are responsible for keeping buildings clean and in an orderly condition. A custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature. They have to perform heavy cleaning duties, such as washing walls and windows, shampooing rugs, cleaning floors, removing rubbish and performing routine maintenance activities. Custodians also have to notify management of repairs needed, tend to furnaces and boilers and clean snow and other debris from sidewalks. The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. This position will be based out of the district office but will also be required to "roam" among schools as the need to fill in is required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous experience in janitorial work. Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a live scan fingerprint background check (cost of $25). Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Business Office Financial Assistant. Will do basic accounting and clerical duties as assigned. May be asked to assist with any functions of the business office including payroll, accounts payable, purchasing and/or accounting. Will enter financial data into the accounting and payroll systems. Will oversee Employee Absence Management system. Will maintain payroll and financial records. Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google G Suite, incredible attention to detail, great organizational skills, basic knowledge of accounting practices, good time management skills, the ability to work independently and on a team. Carbon School District is seeking Sub Bus Drivers. Paid training provided to obtain Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement. Responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events. Drives a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging students at designated stops. Transports students and teacher on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed. Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy. Conducts safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily. Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary. Services buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; checks and when necessary fills tires and batteries. Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition. Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required. Attends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Utah Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children. Performs other related duties as required. Will work approximately 20 hours per week. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check (cost $25). Help with the operation, upkeep and cleaning of the assigned school building and grounds. Keep the building comfortable, safe and clear for all times the building is scheduled for use. Custodial duties include cleaning walls, windows, furniture, floors (carpet & tile), and cleaning restrooms. Stripping and waxing tile floors, refurbishing gym floors periodically. Prepares, produces, and serves a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen states according to recipes and assists in other related tasks in a designated food service production and/or service area Prepares or assists in the preparation of a variety of main and side dishes and accompanying menu items, including sandwiches, salads, meats, vegetables, and fruits as specified by the menu, recipes and production records. Sets up and merchandises food and food service areas and serves food. Practices safe food handling according to State Health Department and CSD Food Services Standard Operating Procedures. Assists in transporting and serving food to satellite locations. Will work approximately 25 hours per week. Must have a valid Utah Food Handler's permit or be willing to obtain one. March 18th Packets can be picked up at the school between 8:00 and 11:30. They will be out for delivery on the buses until 1:30. Any packets not picked up from the bus stops will be delivered to houses. Any remaining packets can be picked up at the school after 1:30.

New lunch and breakfast delivery times. Starting at 9:00 AM Breakfast and 12:00 PM for lunch at your child's bus stop. Non-bus meals at the Senior Citizen Center, Wellness Center, Public Safety Building and Preschool. Kids must pick up their meal. Be prepared to wait.
