BPE Families- We are so excited about our field trip tomorrow. It will be a wonderful experience for all going. Rest assured, we are keeping a close eye on the weather. The safety of our children and staff are top priority. If the trip over the mountain will encounter snow on the roads, we will not be going. We will know by 7:30am. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Special Education Aide/PE Specialist at Bruin Point Elementary School in Sunnyside, Utah. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Substitute Bus Aide. This is a sub position and will be scheduled when route aides need time off.  Will perform a variety of tasks to help support the driver in providing safe and proper transportation of all students to and from school. Must know the proper use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs and seat belt; will assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers; maintain student discipline; supervise and assist students in transit; report any concerns regarding students to the driver and to the appropriate building staff.; know the school bus evacuation procedures and be physically capable to evacuate students in an emergency; learn the bus route and provide route information that includes driver directions for the best way to reach a location for a substitute or newly assigned bus driver, occupy a seat that provides the best opportunity for student supervision while the bus is in motion.  Can work up to 20 hours per week. Hello Parents, BPE will be doing their Halloween Parade at 1:00PM. Faculty and Staff will be doing a trunk or treat in the front parking lot so if you are coming to watch the parade please park in the back. Classroom parties will follow. BPE Families, We are one week into 2nd Quarter. Where does the time go? All attendance has been reset for the next celebration. We are looking forward to even more students qualifying to attend. Requirements for attendance are the same ... missing no more than 2 days. Thanks in advance for supporting your child in getting them to school.

Many of you have probably seen the post about a mountain lion being close to the school. We were told it is ok to send students home as usual, as this issue is being addressed. If you're concerned about your child's safety please pick them up at the school or their bus stop.

BPE Families, Today we sent home a letter with instructions on how to get on the Parent Portal in PowerSchool to access your childs account. Please be on the lookout for it. If you did not receive it, please contact the school in the morning or on Monday.

Please watch your child for the following symptoms. Dear Parent/Guardian, We are seeing an increased number of students with conjunctivitis or “pink eye” at your child’s school. Pink eye is an inflammation of the inside of the eyelid (conjunctiva) and the white part of the eyeball. This inflammation makes blood vessels more visible and gives the eye a pink or reddish color. Pink eye is spread from person to person in different ways. It is usually spread through: • Contact from touching or shaking hands • The air by coughing and sneezing • Touching an object or surface with germs on it, then rubbing your eyes before washing your hands
