Hello Parents, BPE will be doing their Halloween Parade at 1:00PM. Faculty and Staff will be doing a trunk or treat in the front parking lot so if you are coming to watch the parade please park in the back. Classroom parties will follow. Parents can only attend the classroom parties if they've had their background check. Thanks for all the support!

BPE Families, We are one week into 2nd Quarter. Where does the time go? All attendance has been reset for the next celebration. We are looking forward to even more students qualifying to attend. Requirements for attendance are the same ... missing no more than 2 days. Thanks in advance for supporting your child in getting them to school.

The rest of the week for Red Ribbon Week is as follows Wednesday, Witches or Wizards, Pick a Side. Thursday, Spooky Wear & Haunted Hair. Friday, PJ Day.

Many of you have probably seen the post about a mountain lion being close to the school. We were told it is ok to send students home as usual, as this issue is being addressed. If you're concerned about your child's safety please pick them up at the school or their bus stop.

****REMINDER**** Tomorrow 9/29/23 is fall picture day. Starting at 9AM. ALL STUDENTS will have their pictures taken. You can order online with code UT341 if you haven't sent in a picture package with a check or cash. If you have any questions please call the office 435-888-4474

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Pre School Aide at Bruin Point Elementary School in Sunnyside, Utah. Must have the ability to work with young children, have a good working knowledge of the preschool learning process and be able to take direction from the Lead Preschool Teacher.   Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Will be required to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening.   Will work approximately 20 hours per week.  Beginning pay is $14.92 per hour. BPE Families, Today we sent home a letter with instructions on how to get on the Parent Portal in PowerSchool to access your childs account. Please be on the lookout for it. If you did not receive it, please contact the school in the morning or on Monday.

Please watch your child for the following symptoms. If your child has the symptoms below, you should call your child’s healthcare provider for guidance on treatment and when they can return to school. • Redness or swelling of the white of the eye or inside the eyelids • An increased amount of tears • Eye discharge which may be clear, yellow, white, or green • Itchy, irritated, and/or burning eyes • Gritty feeling in the eye • Crusting of the eyelids or lashes • Contact lenses that feel uncomfortable and/or do not stay in place on the eye Thank You, Heidi Yoklavich RN, Carbon Schools District Nurse

Dear Parent/Guardian, We are seeing an increased number of students with conjunctivitis or “pink eye” at your child’s school. Pink eye is an inflammation of the inside of the eyelid (conjunctiva) and the white part of the eyeball. This inflammation makes blood vessels more visible and gives the eye a pink or reddish color. Pink eye is spread from person to person in different ways. It is usually spread through: • Contact from touching or shaking hands • The air by coughing and sneezing • Touching an object or surface with germs on it, then rubbing your eyes before washing your hands

Ballots for School Community Council (SCC) Elections will be coming home with your student tomorrow. If you receive more than one, please only return one to the school. Please vote for the candidate of your choosing and return the ballot to the school next week before Sept. 15th. Thank you to all the candidates that showed interest in being a part of our SCC.

***Parents, teachers have a list of who rides the bus, walks to school, or is a parent pick up. The only way this can be changed is for you to call the school or send a note with them.

Dear Parents, Thank you, again, for your patience as we implement a huge change in our student information system! We have an update for you on the error this morning with the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The problem is within the Document Delivery feature of PowerSchool. They are diligently working on a solution for us and we hope to have an answer very soon. We will communicate with you once the problem has been resolved. It is our highest priority.

Dear Parents, Earlier this morning we sent emails to parents with access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. There were issues that we found and we have since shut off the Parent Portal access until the problems are resolved. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through this huge implementation. We will communicate with you as soon as we have the issues resolved.

School Community Council (SCC) nominations are due on Wednesday, Sept 6th. If you are interested in being a part of SCC, please fill out the form your child brought home. If you need another one, please contact the office and we will make sure one comes home. Elections ballots will be sent home the week of Sept 11th. Thanks:)

Back to School 8/24/2023 @5PM

BPE will be holding our BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT on Thursday, August 24th from 5-6:30pm. We will meet in the cafeteria for a General Meeting, then dismiss for parents to visit classrooms. We will have two sessions for classroom visits. Following the visits, we will be serving dinner. We hope to see everyone there:)

BPE Families-- Thank you so much for helping your children get to school and on time. We had 100% attendance school wide today. That is something to celebrate!!
