Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Assistant Swim Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. An assistant swim coach provides support to swim coaches and players by performing various tasks. They also help swim coaches by facilitating warm-up exercises, providing one-on-one assistance to the players in need of guidance, monitoring and replenishing supplies, preparing facilities, maintaining records, and implementing safety guidelines. Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Assistant Softball Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Experience working with high school student athletes and softball is preferred. Qualified applicants must have the ability to motivate student athletes and the ability to work cooperatively with administrators, coaches, parents and student athletes. The Assistant Coach will be able to teach the technical and tactical aspects of softball. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting Head Coach with the Softball program in a positive and effective manner; communicate with parents, participants and fellow coaches; ability to help plan and execute skills and training programs specific for the level of athlete; help prepare student-athletes for competition; help oversee the daily maintenance and repair of equipment; other duties as assigned. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Sweeper at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The school custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature.The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. Will work under the direction of the school principal and lead custodian. Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Part time, approximately 29 hours per week. Will work the afternoon/evening shift. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a live scan fingerprint background check. Beginning pay is $14.92 per hour. The Assistant Tennis Coach assists the Head Tennis Coach in promoting an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Tennis Coach assists in providing leadership and supervision for team and individual sports, and works closely with the other staff and administration. Assist in the coordination and supervision of the Tennis program and team. Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Assist in the design of a training program and game program. Assist in the organization and supervision of the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented. Ensure that all athletic activities conform to UHSAA guidelines. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. USU Eastern will have a representative at Carbon High this Friday
(9/22) during advisory to talk to students about their career and
technical education programs. This would be a great opportunity for
students of any grade to learn about options that are available at the
USU campus in Price. Any student interested in this advisory needs to
come to the counseling office to sign up by the end of the school day

Seniors and Parents of Seniors: Utah Tech University will be at CHS from 10:30am - 12:00pm tomorrow, Tuesday 9/19.
CHS parents, students were given a copy of the PowerSchool Parent Portal sign up letter in advisory today. Look for those papers coming home after school. If an additional copy is needed you can get one from the counseling center.
Students on Attendance Probation may not attend the Homecoming Football game or the Homecoming Dance. Following these activities, check with the Attendance Office for options to be removed from probation before other extracurricular activities are held, including the Pref Dance in November. Questions: contact the CHS Attendance Office.
Parents: Please be on the lookout for the PowerSchool Parent Portal Instruction form starting Monday. It will contain instructions on how to access your personal parent portal. This is being sent home on Monday 9/18/2023 with your student due to the shortened schedule already in place for Homecoming tomorrow.
Hello Parents,
Registration is now open for all winter sports, which includes Boys and Girls Swimming, Basketball and Wrestling. If your student is planning to tryout for any of these sports, you will need to register them on Aktivate (formerly known as Register My Athlete) as soon as possible. The web address is www.aktivate.com. Swimmers need to be registered before October 1 and the rest of the winter sports must be registered before November 5. Please be aware that each athlete will now be required to upload a copy of their birth certificate into Aktivate to be eligible to participate, this requirement is a result of a law that was passed by the Utah State Legislature.
