Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Check & Connect Aide. Check & Connect is an intervention used with K-12 students who show warning signs of disengagement with school and who are at risk of dropping out. At the core of Check & Connect is a trusting relationship between the student and a caring, trained mentor who both advocates for and challenges the student to keep their educational goals moving forward. Students are referred to Check & Connect when they show warning signs of disengaging from school, such as poor attendance, behavioral issues, and/or low grades. WIll work 29 hours per week. Driver's education instructors teach students how to operate a car as well as safe driving techniques.A driver's education instructor imparts knowledge of defensive driving skills, state driving laws, accident causality and avoidance, and basic traffic courtesy to future drivers. Must be able to educate students in both theoretical and practical formats. Will teach the classroom portion of the class and possibly in the car if all certifications are completed. Must have a Bachelor's degree. Must possess a current Utah Driver's Education certificate. This is a part time position.

Carbon High School will be holding a FAFSA Completion Event for seniors and parents on Monday, October 12th from 5-8pm in the Carbon High Library (masks required). We will have financial aid staff from USU Eastern as well as virtual volunteers from the Utah Systems of Higher Education available to answer questions and help work through the application.
Carbon School District is seeking application for a full time Custodian. Custodians are responsible for keeping buildings clean and in an orderly condition. A custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature. They have to perform heavy cleaning duties, such as washing walls and windows, shampooing rugs, cleaning floors, removing rubbish and performing routine maintenance activities. Custodians also have to notify management of repairs needed, tend to furnaces and boilers and clean snow and other debris from sidewalks. The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. This position will be based out of the district office but will also be required to "roam" among schools as the need to fill in is required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous experience in janitorial work. Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a live scan fingerprint background check (cost of $25). This position will remain open until filled.

Hello, 12th grade students and parents. Next week, on October 6th, Carbon High School will hosting our Utah College Application Week. This is an opportunity for 12th grade students to apply for Utah colleges. Many schools from across the state will have representatives here to answer questions and help complete applications. Many of the colleges will WAIVE the fee for applications filled out that day. Students will receive a schedule and be excused from class based on which colleges they want to apply for. You can apply to as many schools as you like that day. Students should plan to have their Social Security number, Driver’s License information, and a credit card or payment information for any schools who do not waive the application fee. This is an amazing opportunity to get a jump start on your future.

May be asked to assist with any functions of the business office including payroll, accounts payable, purchasing and/or accounting. Will enter financial data into the accounting and payroll systems.
