Seniors: Graduation Practice is Wed, 5/25/22 @ 10:00 AM starting in the CHS Auditorium, casual dress. We will be going outside (so wear sunblock or a hat, if needed). For official graduation, seniors need to meet in the New Gym by 5:00 PM. Graduation starts promptly at 6:00 PM. Gates for seating will open at 4:30 PM. Information about drop off/parking is on the 2022 graduation page on the CHS homepage. Tickets are required for entry. Senior Sunset is tonight at 8:00 pm. Yearbooks will be handed out to the seniors who ordered them. Free signature books will be available for students who don't have a yearbook. A limited number of yearbooks will be available for purchase at senior sunset for seniors the cost is $85.

Seniors will receive their yearbooks tonight (May 24th) at Senior Sunset. For all other students, yearbook day will be tomorrow (Wednesday, May 25th) starting at 8:10 AM. If you are wanting to buy a yearbook, there will be only a few for sale. Please bring $85.00 (CASH ONLY). If you did not get a yearbook, there will be FREE signature books for all students to have their friends and teachers sign. CHS parents and students, reminder no school tomorrow it is a professional development day for teachers. Students still working on Edgenuity, the lab will be open from 8-3 tomorrow for anyone who needs to come in. Seniors the building will be open for you to come in tomorrow to pick up graduation tickets. In order to pick up your tickets your orange checkout sheet must be completed. If you still need teacher signatures, teachers will not be available tomorrow. You can come in Monday and Tuesday to get the signatures and then pick up your graduation tickets. Your tickets WILL NOT be given away if you don't pick them up tomorrow. Tickets can be picked up through Wednesday afternoon. Remember tickets cannot be picked up until the orange checkout sheet is complete. Tickets can only be picked up by the graduate, in order to make sure everyone receives their tickets. Seniors, graduation practice will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM. Meet in the auditorium.

Seniors here is the schedule for graduation walk at the schools. The graduation walk will take place on Monday May 23rd. If you did not attend one of the schools you may choose which one(s) you go to. Wear your graduation gown and cap.

As we fast approaching the end of the school year, students who are pushing to finish credit recovery here is the credit recovery schedule for the remainder of the year. Edgenuity/Credit Recovery Open Lab for the final days of school: Mon, 5/16/22: 1-4 PM Tues, 5/17/22: 6-8 PM Thur, 5/19/22 (Senior Sluff): 8-4 PM & 6-8 PM Fri, 5/20/22 (Senior Checkout): 8-4 PM Mon, 5/23/22: 1-4 PM Tues, 5/24/22: 6-8 PM SENIORS are welcome in the library computer lab ANY TIME (all day) . Summer School begins Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 8-12 in the CHS library computer lab.

Seniors, don't forget the senior sluff day for Lagoon is Thursday May 19th. Seating on the bus is limited. If you want to go sign up and pay $45 in the office by the end of the day Wednesday May 18th.

Seniors, this is a reminder that we have the awards assembly this Wednesday (May 18th) beginning at 1pm in the CHS auditorium. For the first 45 minutes of the assembly, representatives from scholarship programs will be announcing scholarship winners. After this beginning portion, the rest of the grades will be called in and additional schoolwide awards will be given.

MORP will be held Monday May 9th from 7:30-9:15 at USUE. Tickets already purchased for MORP will be honored. If tickets need to be purchased $15 for and individual $20 a couple.

CHS SENIORS: Please check your school email for a SENIOR EXIT SURVEY which must be completed as part of your checkout process. (This includes early graduates as well) The survey will ask about your plan and placement activities for next FALL, specifically October 2022 through December 2022. Will you be working? Attending a college, university, or applied technology college? Etc... We appreciate your participation, it will just take a moment of your time. Please complete the survey before graduation practice.

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6-8 PM, Open Lab Night in the CHS library for Edgenuity credit recovery and help with homework/grades. Seniors get priority, but everyone is welcome. (This time can also count toward working off U's for graduation.) We only have 4 full weeks of school left! Email Mandi Bryner or Heather Baker with questions.

Each graduate will receive 5 free guest tickets for graduation. There are a limited number of extra tickets available (also free), and you can request those (up to 2 total per graduate) using the form on the graduation information page on the CHS website. (The link is just below the Carbon Promise). That request form will open Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 7:30 AM. Students can pick up tickets starting May 20, 2022 when they check out. As a reminder: all fees need to be paid and all U's worked off before tickets can be picked up. We're looking forward to a great day on May 25th!

Just a reminder we will be doing Aspire Plus Testing Tuesday and Wednesday. 9th and 10th Grade will come in the mornings both days to test. 11th and 12th Grades will come on a late start. The schedule is below. If students have to ride the bus in the morning we will have rooms 11th and 12th graders can work in while the others test. Students and parents, It is time to hold elections for Student Government for 2022-2023 school year. An email was sent out but a lot of students did not get the email. If your student is interested in running for a class officer position or a student body officer position they need to go to the link below and join the canvas course. There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, April 26 in Mrs. Erickson's classroom, C-6 at 7:00 pm. Due to the weather MORP will be postponed. We will still have a stomp in the gym tonight from 7-9. Your MORP ticket will get you into the stomp and MORP. The stomp will be held in the new gym at the high school. Please pass the word.

Hello, CHS students and parents. On Wednesday, April 27th, representatives from Intermountain Electronics will be holding a lunch meeting for students to talk about their summer internship program. Students wanting to participate in the meeting need to sign up in the counseling office by the end of the school day on April 26th. The meeting is in room D-6 and will begin at 11:45am (flex) and go through lunch. Lunch will be provided. Current 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students may attend the meeting and fill out the application for the internship (students must be 16 or older).

Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Assists the Head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. Assists the Head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition. Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the Head coach. This is a part time position working approximately 20 hours per week.  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening (cost of $25). Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Color Guard Advisor at Carbon High School. The Color Guard instructor coordinates the preparations, exercises, and activities of the school marching band’s auxiliary unit, the Color Guard. The instructor prepares and directs the unit for independent performance and competition, as well as for performances integrated within the larger marching band. Prepares warm-up routines/practice exercises for the unit; choreographs, arranges, and implements color guard routine(s), both as an integrated part of the marching band, and as an independent unit; schedules and conducts extra rehearsals for the unit.  Schedules separate competition events as the unit transitions its status from an attachment of the marching band to an independent competition entity (Winter Guard) during the winter season;  Other related duties, as assigned, to assist the Band Director prepare students for competitions and public appearances, including parades and reviews.   Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background screening (cost of $25).
