Carbon High and Utah State are working together to offer monthly college readiness events for students during advisory. The first meeting will be next Wednesday, December 14th for seniors. We will be talking about the college application process and what seniors that have already applied and been accepted to college should do next. Students that are interested in attending this advisory session, need to sign up in the counseling office no later than 12pm on Tuesday.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Half Time Exploring Computer Science Teacher at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. A computer science teacher is responsible for teaching students computer and programming knowledge and skills. CHS, MHMS, WELLINGTON From December 5th to December 9th, 300 North in Wellington to Old Wellington Road will be closed. Students living on Old Wellington Road Between North Coal Creek Road and Wellington City will need to meet the bus at the North Coal Creek Road and Old Wellington Road to be picked up and dropped off. This Closure is causing the buses that go down Old Wellington Road to be re-routed; therefore, this Afternoon and Friday afternoon Drivers on Buses 2, 7, and 4 will be handing out new pick up and drop off times to the students on these routes. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this road closure. We are expecting that all the routes will return to their regular routes and schedules on December 12th.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for Guest Teachers throughout the District. Guest Teachers provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. Guest Teachers execute lesson plans left by the absent teacher. Guest Teachers create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Guest Teachers monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures. Must be a high school graduate and be at least age 18.  Will be required to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check as well as a one hour online training course.  Pay is $100 for a full day and $50 for a half day. Assist head coach, instruct student athletes on skills and strategies, and organize equipment. Carbon High School is excited to host our annual career fair tomorrow morning. We have over 40 different presenters coming to Carbon High to talk about local careers available to our students. Students will be able to attend four different sessions during the morning where they can ask questions of employers and listen to a presentation. The bell schedule for tomorrow is attached.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Girl's Head Wrestling Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The Girl's Head Wrestling Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the Girl's wrestling program in the Carbon School District in accordance with district and  UHSAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the varsity team but will be committed to working with all levels of the program. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program..Must have successful wrestling coaching experience and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed. Will work with the Athletic Director to schedule competitions and make arrangements. Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Stripping and waxing tile floors, refurbishing gym floors periodically. Other custodial duties as assigned by head custodian including minor maintenance on the building and grounds. Will work approximately 29 hours per week. Must pass a live screen background check.   Must be a high school graduate or have equivalent.   Starting pay is $13.32 per hour. If you are a 10th, 11th, or 12th grade student that is interested in taking welding through USU Eastern next semester, please come to the welding meeting on Thursday, November 17th at 5:30pm in the CHS faculty room. Parents are invited to the meeting as well, but are not required to attend. Applications for the class will be handed out during the meeting.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Full Time Intensive Behavior Intervention Aide at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Intensive intervention paraprofessionals are responsible for managing students assigned to the intensive behavior intervention classroom.  The position requires de-escalating extreme behavior, closely following and monitoring behavior plans, providing academic support to students, and collaborating with teachers and other staff.  The intensive behavior intervention classroom will be provided for students who are unable to manage their behavior in a traditional setting and who need additional support with a lower teacher-to-student ratio.   Must have the ability to work with students who may be highly agitated and/or demonstrating extremely disruptive behavior. Ability to understand and follow behavior plan components such as follow break schedule, repeat instructions without frustration, progress monitor and document necessary interventions, communicate with teacher(s) and administration.  Must have the ability to take guidance from supervisor, ability to follow through with tasks, come to work every day on time and prepared, willingness to attend training and implement strategies in daily work.  ​Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must have the ability to pass a BCI LiveScan fingerprint background check.   Must be 21 years of age or older.   Must have previous experience with students with disabilities.   Must have previous experience with students who demonstrate unwanted behavior including escalated behavior.
