Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Check & Connect Aide. Check & Connect is an intervention used with K-12 students who show warning signs of disengagement with school and who are at risk of dropping out. At the core of Check & Connect is a trusting relationship between the student and a caring, trained mentor who both advocates for and challenges the student to keep their educational goals moving forward. Students are referred to Check & Connect when they show warning signs of disengaging from school, such as poor attendance, behavioral issues, and/or low grades. WIll work 29 hours per week. An Earthquake/Fire Drill was held at HMS this morning. All students exited the building quickly and were accounted for.
Archery resumes this week Tues, Wed and Thurs: 7am try to attend at least 1 session. Holiday Concert next Tues 12/15 7pm. Students need to be there by 6:30 only two parents will be allowed per students. We will broadcast it on our Facebook page.
Boys basketball practice will begin again tomorrow - Saturday 12/5 from 9 am to 10:30 am.

Girls Basketball Tryouts - Tuesday 11/24 at 3:30pm - practices for all sports are permitted to resume the week of 11/30 please contact the coaches for an updated practice schedule.
HMS Girls Basketball - due to the governor's restrictions on extracurricular activities we have struggled to get a girls basketball team together. Please have your student respond to the email they received from Mrs. Moon if they are interested. This will help us assemble the team sooner and be able to move ahead with practices in a timely manner.

All HMS extra-curricular activities are suspended until Sept 23 this includes girls and boys basketball, wrestling, archery, and RPG due to the recent emergency declaration. No girls shooting practice this morning. School is still in session and masks are still expected to be worn. Thank you for understanding.
Girls Basketball will have shooting practice on Monday and Friday mornings at 7:30 am in the gym.
HMS Girls Basketball Open Gym has been cancelled for today. The next open gym is on the 11th.

Will work with students with disabilities to enhance their learning and access to the school curriculum. Will work in self contained classroom. Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Students can dress up in their costumes on Friday. Please follow these guidelines:
No Full face masks - your costume must still accommodate the wearing of an appropriate face covering as normal
Costumes must be school appropriate and follow school dress code
Please do make-up and hair at home
Avoid oversized costumes / bulky costumes (inflatable)
No weapons real or facsimile
