HMS Track: After much delay we are happy to announce our track coaches for this year. Melissa Cartwright and Richard Liddell. Practices will be held M-Th 3:30 to 5:30 starting today for the next 4 weeks with track meets on Fridays.
From Carbon School District : "We are grateful to be one of the very few districts in the U.S. to hold in-person school 5 days a week all school year long. We entered the school year with a commitment that "all healthy students need to be in school". Because of our compliance with our reopening plan and all other requirements, this commitment was realized. We are also grateful that our students have been able to participate in most extra-curricular activities and even prom. The Governor, in consultation with the Utah Department of Health, has extended the requirement for wearing masks in our schools until June 15th. Carbon School District is obligated to comply with this mandate. We ask for your support. We do not want to see any non-compliance negatively impact our students being able to participate in all the upcoming learning and activities. ATTN 5th Graders and Parents. HMS will have it's 5th Grade Orientation for students planning to attend our school NEXT year. April 26, 2021 from 9-11 a.m. Sally Mauro students will walk to the school. Students from other schools parents will need to pick up and drop off.
HMS: We will attempt our 8th grade Language Arts writing test tomorrow. We will reverse our schedule again starting with 7th period and ending with 1st. Lunches as normal. Please avoid picking up your 8th grader before 12:45 if possible. On Thurs. the 8th graders will be going to Carbon High at 8:15 am for registration and returning at 1:30.
Helper City is inviting you and your students to a ribbon cutting for the newly rebuilt swinging bridge on Monday 3/29 at 1:00 pm on 100 west in Helper. If you happen to live nearby we would love to have your students attend.
Parents/Guardians: We will be having our 8th grade students complete their End of Year Rise Writing Assessment tomorrow. To do this we will be reversing our schedule and will start with 7th period. Please try to avoid checking out your students before lunch if possible.

Students and Parents-
I have just received confirmation that our 8th grade students will be traveling from Helper to Carbon High on April 8th for registration!!! I can't believe this, the year has gone by so fast!
Please plan on having your student here at Helper, on time, on April 8th. (If your student eats breakfast at the school, please ensure that they arrive in time to get breakfast.) We will take roll and then load the buses for our trip to Carbon High School. Students will attend 10 different 15 minute breakout sessions. They will get information from all core classes, CTE, fine arts, health/PE, sports requirements, and foreign language. There will be a 20 minute break mid-morning. At noon students will go to the auditorium for the registration presentation. Students will eat in the cafeteria at 12:45 and then load the buses at 1:15. We will resume their normal schedule for the afternoon.
Parents will NOT attend this part of the registration process; however, there will be an opportunity to meet with a high school counselor and attend orientation sometime over the summer. Please look for emails from the high school counselors regarding scheduling and registration.

There will not be a broadcast link for the Boys BB game at Green River today. They do not broadcast the Jr High games.
Parents, you’ll notice the parking lots will be closed beginning tomorrow morning as construction equipment begins to arrive. Please plan to pick up and drop off students in the front of the building for activities using the band room door. Parking will be challenging at events so please be courteous to our neighbors during our construction. Thank you in advance.
