The Carbon Girls Middle school wrestling are coming home as middle school state champions. This team is made up of both Mont Harmon and Helper Middle School students. We are so proud of all of them and their hard work. They will be coming home with a police escort and all students, parents and faculty are invited to greet them at Mont Harmon Middle school to welcome the state champions home. The bus will be arriving about 8:40 PM. You can begin gathering at 8:30 in the bus circle. Come and show your support for these awesome student athletes.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Sub Bus Driver in the Transportation Department. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a Live scan fingerprint background screening. Must be able to qualify for a Utah CDL drivers license with school bus endorsement. District will provide paid training for qualified applicant. Under general supervision, the Substitute School Bus Driver operates school buses and/or other District vehicles to transport children to and from school and related activities in a safe, timely and economical manner when regular bus driver is not available. Hey parents and students. This week is spirit week. There will be a boys basketball game tomorrow at 3:00. Students who come to watch the game will get free cotton candy. There will also be a girls basketball game on Thursday-the varsity game starts at 4:15. Students who come to watch the varsity game will get free popcorn. We look forward to a great week!

There has been a schedule change for the boys basketball game tomorrow. The varsity game will begin at 3:00 and the JV game will follow at 4:15. The 6th grade game will still be at 5:30.

Are you wanting to volunteer for upcoming field trips, with sports/clubs or in the classroom? All volunteers must complete a Live Scan fingerprint background screening. There is no cost for the background check. These are by appointment only. Please plan accordingly as results can take up to 2 weeks to come back. REMINDER: Important change for Bus 134 Morning drop off location due to upcoming construction. Beginning Monday, January 5, the drop off location for Bus 134 for Mont Harmon will CHANGE due to the Price City Construction at 400 N and Carbon Avenue. The bus will no longer make a left hand turn into the school. Instead the following changes will take effect: 1) The bus will now stop at the WEST crosswalk, students will off load at the crosswalk and will be assisted by school staff to reach school safely, Price City Police will be on site to help manage traffic. After the drop off, the bus will continue on its regular route to Carbon High. Please see the attached image for more information.

Price City will be doing construction on the canal crossing at the intersection of 400 North and Carbon Avenue. This construction will affect traffic patterns in the area. Construction will begin on or around January 5-the first day of school back from the break. We wanted to give you information about the project so you can plan ahead for student drop off/pick up.
Carbon Avenue will be closed from 200 North to 400 North. You can access the Mont Harmon or the district office by going through Carbonville or from 100 East. Students will not be able to walk down Carbon Avenue-there will be pedestrian crossing for students to access 100 West.
In hope to help traffic to flow, the stop signs at the intersection of Carbon Avenue and 400 North will be removed during the construction. Also there will be no left turns permitted from 400 North onto 100 East. In order to ensure the safety of students crossing the road, there will be no parking/drop off on either shoulder of 400 North in front of the school. Please drop off students in the school main parking lot, the parking lot East of the football field or near the park.

**COMMUNITY MESSAGE**
We have very heavy hearts in the great loss to our Castle Heights Elementary family. Linda Garvin, a beloved 4th grade teacher, died last night due to injuries sustained in an accident. Our Crisis Response Team has been at the school and will continue to provide services for students and staff.
We have resources prepared for parents to help their children as they process grief. Please contact your child’s school if you need help.
We would like to thank the community for the overwhelming support. We would also like to thank you in advance for respecting the families involved by providing the privacy they need.

The girls basketball game today has changed locations. It will be held at the BDAC. JV Games will start at 3:30, Varsity will be at 4:45 and 6th grade will be at 6:15. Come and cheer on our girls basketball team.
