
Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Child Nutrition Program Supervisor. The Child Nutrition Program Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) throughout the school district. The job functions will include administrating, planning, directing, and evaluating the program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs of students.
Position responsibilities include establish quality standards for the presentation and service of food; implement a department-wide customer service philosophy focused on value and satisfaction; develop cost-effective menus that maintain nutritional integrity and meet state and federal guidelines and regulations; assess student preferences, industry trends, and current research to plan menus that encourage participation in the CNP. Work with school staff, teachers, parents, and physicians to plan menus for students with special nutrition needs. Establish procedures to ensure food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe environment. Integrate employee safety regulations into all phases of the school food service operation.
Manage the CNP using appropriate financial management techniques
Ensure all records and supporting documentation are maintained in accordance with district, state and federal laws and policies.
Oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of departmental staff
Must have a knowledge of menu planning, food purchasing, and preparation of foods in food service environment, experience with budget management, experience supervising personnel and strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Foods and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Science, Culinary Arts, Business, or related field* OR Bachelor’s degree in any academic major and at least two years of relevant school nutrition programs experience* OR an Associate’s degree in one of the following areas: Foods and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Science, Culinary Arts, Business, or related field and at least two years of relevant school nutrition programs experience*

The Public Media Specialist will assist district administration with building and maintaining a positive image of our schools and district. Specific duties including promote positive community awareness of the school district through external communications; draft news articles, press releases, social media posts, and other media communications; assist with managing social media channels; work closely with district and school administrators to highlight positive school events, activities, and achievements; take photos at school activities and events for use in media communications; represent Carbon School District with professional conduct and communication. Qualifications include being a creative thinker, experience with social media, excellent written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with photography and being self-motivated. This is a part time position working up to 20 hours per week with a flexible, self-determined schedule. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. We are entering another phase of our construction. This means we have to change the student drop off again. Students will need to be picked up and dropped off at the lower parking. (East). Parents will not be allowed to pull up through the bus turn around. Please enter and exit by the dome on the south side of the school. There is a picture posted on Facebook. We are almost done with our construction! Yippee!

To help create a safer transportation environment for all on the road, the Carbon School District Transportation Department wants to remind parents and motorists to use precautionary measures including having extra consideration for buses as they are traveling more slowly on icy roads and some residential roads may be tight due to snow build up. Just like you, bus drivers are taking their time on wintery roads and unpredictable delays can happen, please be patient with them as we work to keep our students safe this Winter.

The goal of the attendance secretary is to provide the necessary clerical responsibilities to assist the building administrator(s) in the smooth, prompt and efficient operation of the school office. Welcomes and greets visitors to the school office. Answers phone, arranges appointments, and screens visitors. Assists in typing of correspondence, reports, memos, etc., as instructed. Maintains a complete and systematic filing system. Monitors, collects, compiles, enters, and maintains accurate computer records of all daily attendance information. Assists in calling parents of students who are absent. Assists with checkin of late arrivals and admit slips. Maintains confidentiality of all schoolrelated matters. Dear Carbon School District Parents and Guardians,
It has come to our attention that there is a current Tik Tok challenge related to school violence. We are aware and watching. If there is a threat to any school in Carbon School District we will take immediate action, notify law enforcement and parents. At this time, school will be held as normal in all Carbon School District locations.
District administration is collaborating with local law enforcement to track any possible threats. Tomorrow, December 17, there will also be an increased police presence in all schools so that our students, parents, and staff are safe.
We appreciate you cooperation in talking with your children about the seriousness and potential consequences of participating in these types of trends. We are looking forward to a great day as we wrap up this exciting week headed into winter break!

Parents are welcome to come and walk through our school science fair tomorrow (December 16th) from 2pm-3pm. It will be in the library. Please check-in to the office.

Starting tomorrow through December 15 Student government is putting on a food drive. It will be a competition between grade levels. There will be boxes in the library for each grade and a sign in the stating what types of food you can donate. The grade with the most amount of food donated will earn a prize!

Parents! Please remember school starts at 8:00am! We have had a lot of students tardy lately.

FCCLA is sponsoring an Angel Tree this year. There is 1 gift per Angel, most are around $10 in value. The tree is in Mrs. Cox's room. The gifts need to be returned by December 10th, with the Angel attached. (wrapped or unwrapped) Also accepting cash donations, to purchase anything we are still in need of.

Parking INFORMATION
MH parents. We once again need to change our parking procedure.
Starting Monday, December 6th the bottom parking lot (East) will be CLOSED. You will not be able to park or drop off in this parking lot. For student drop-off and pick up please continue to use the bus circle. (East side of the building).
There will be very limited visitor parking in the top parking lot (West) by the office. This parking is only available from 8:15am to 2:45pm on Tuesday-Friday and from 8:15am to 11:30am on Monday. This is where the busses are currently loading and unloading, so parking is only available while they are not running.
If you need to park during bussing hours, or the top parking is full, you will need to park in the East parking lot on the East side of the football field and walk to the building.

Provides secretarial and administrative support to the Administration; communicating information to students, parents, staff, and/or other districts; ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees.
